Put a stick, or chunk, of good butter out to soften fully to room temp
Peel about six apples and 4 peaches, or any combination thereof, core them, cube or slice them and toss them with the juice of 2 limes and a few good sized chunks of candied ginger, finely chopped.
Crumble together the butter with 1 cup of oats, 1/2 cup of ground flax seed, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom.
You can add nuts, raisins, currants, or whatever to the topping too, if you like. I like blanched, sliced almonds, myself.
Put the fruit down in a thick layer in a pan, and cover with the crumble in a thick layer.
Bake it at 350 for 1/2 hour, and then until the inside is bubbly and the outside is crisp.
Have at it- preferably with vanilla ice cream!

I have to tell mmy sister in law to look for that,my niece loves to cook and to read about it. She's 3!
We made chocolate cupcakes for her 2nd birthday and I became known as "Momo cupcake" (Momo is short for Daicomo which is Chinese for aunt on mother's side.)
I just roasted a batch of cauliflower cheddar and purple mix, shaves of parmigiano-regiano and balsamic at end. Also a big batch another meal of celeriac, carrots, and such. Was missing beloved parsnips.
